Royal Guests and Relatives gathered from around Europe for the Wedding of Duchess Sophie of Württemberg and diplomat Antonio Manuel Rôxo de Ramos-Bandeira at Schloss Altshausen on this day in 1969, 55 years ago.

Duchess Sophie of Württemberg, daughter Duke Albrecht Eugen of Württemberg and Princess Nadezhda of Bulgaria, married Portuguese diplomat Antonio Manuel Rôxo de Ramos-Bandeira, son of Dr. Antonio de Ramos-Bandeira and Alice de Souza-Rôxo, at Schloss Altshausen. The couple got divorced in 1974 with the marriage annulled in 1976.

Duchess Sophie wore the spectacular Bulgarian Fringe Tiara, inherited from her grandmother, Princess Marie Louise of Bulgaria.

Alongside the extended Württemberg Royal Family, Royal Guests and Relatives included Princess Eudoxie of Bulgaria, the Margravine of Baden, the Prince and Princess of Hohenzollern, Archduke Hubert and Archduchess Rosemary of Austria-Tuscany, Prince Ludwig and Princess Marianne of Baden, Hereditary Prince Alois-Konstantin zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, Duke Friedrich August and Duchess Marie Cecile of Oldenburg, Duke Roberto of Parma, Fürst Franz Joseph of Thurn und Taxis, and Fürst Georg of Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg.

On the evening after the Wedding, Royal Guests and Relatives gathered for a spectacular Ball celebrating Duchess Sophie (wearing the French Crown Pearl Brooch) and Antonio de Ramos-Bandeira at Schloss Altshausen.

Royal Guests and Relatives who were pictured included Princess Diane, Duchess of Württemberg (wearing the Württemberg Ruby Tiara), the Margravine of Baden (in the Baden Sunburst Tiara), the Princess of Hohenzollern (wearing the Hohenzollern Sapphire Parure), and Princess Marie Alexandra of Schleswig-Holstein (in the Schleswig-Holstein Diamond Bow Tiara).
