King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand hosted Queen Juliana, Prince Bernhard and Crown Princess Beatrix of The Netherlands on their State Visit to Thailand on this day in 1963, 60 years ago, which came after the State Visit to Iran in 1963, as a response to the Thai State Visit to The Netherlands in 1960.
Queen Juliana, Prince Bernhard and Crown Princess Beatrix of The Netherlands were welcomed by King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit at the Airport in Bangkok with a Guard of Honour and a Dance Performance.
In the evening, the King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit (in her Thai Tiara and Diamond Necklace) hosted a spectacular State Banquet for Queen Juliana (wearing the Stuart Tiara), Prince Bernhard and Crown Princess Beatrix (in the Dutch Emerald Tiara) at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
There were a series of cultural engagements, as well as what appears to be a Return Banquet hosted by Queen Juliana (wearing the Mellerio Ruby Tiara).
