The aristocratic model married to the Heir of the illustrious Princely Family, Hereditary Princess Cleopatra wore the well-known Oettingen-Spielberg Tiara for her wedding, but appeared in this mystery heirloom last year, which we are revealing today!
Oettingen-Spielberg Tiara | Diamond Necklace
When Hereditary Princess Cleopatra attended the Wedding of her friend, Carina Axelsson, to Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg last year, she was wearing this mystery Tiara, which was not the usual Oettingen-Spielberg Tiara. While many speculated that it may be an heirloom from her own family, she was born Baroness Cleopatra von Adelsheim von Ernest, or a loan from a jewellery house, we can now reveal that the Tiara is a family heirloom.
How old this heirloom is is difficult to discern, since the design looks quite modern as a Tiara but almost Victorian as a necklace, with one of its earliest appearances as a necklace on the current Princess of Oettingen-Spielberg, along with the Oettingen-Spielberg Tiara, at the Wedding Ball of Duke Friedrich of Württemberg and Princess Marie of Wied at Schloss Altshausen in 1993.
The following year, the Princess wore the Diamond Necklace for the specular Wedding Ball of Hereditary Prince Carl Eugen zu Oettingen-Wallerstein and Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn at Schloss Sayn.
In 1998, the Diamond Necklace was worn by Princess Angela for the Wedding Gala of Archduke Carl Peter of Austria and Princess Alexandra of Wrede at Residenz Ellingen.
Two years later, Princess Angla was pictured in the Diamond Necklace attending the Wedding Gala of Princess Désirée of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach married Count Florian von und zu Hoensbroech.
In 2003, the Princess of Oettingen-Spielberg wore the Diamond Necklace for the Wedding of Hereditary Prince Carl von Wrede and Countess Katalin Bethlen de Bethlen in the Landwirtschaftlichen Museum in Budapest.
Most recently, the Princess wore the Diamond Necklace, again with the Tiara, for the Wedding Ball of the Prince of Prussia and Princess Sophie of Isenburg in Potsdam in 2011.
As stated previously, last year, the Diamond Necklace was worn as a Tiara by Hereditary Princess Cleopatra for the Wedding of her friend, Carina Axelsson, to Prince Gustav of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg at Schloss Berleburg, following a twenty-year relationship.
