Wedding of Anne Abel-Smith and David Liddell-Grainger, 1957

The Wedding of Anne Abel-Smith (wearing the Teck Ears of Wheat Tiara), daughter of Sir Henry Abel Smith and Lady May Cambridge and granddaughter of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, and David Liddell-Grainger at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on this day in 1957. The couple had five children, including MP Ian Liddell-Grainger, residing at Ayton Castle in Scottish Borders before their divorce in 1981. 

Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included the Queen, Queen Mother, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, Princess Sibylla of Sweden, Princess Alice of Greece, Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester and the Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra, and Prince Michael of Kent, Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood and Lady Patricia Ramsay. Princess Beatrix and Princess Irene of the Netherlands and Princess Christina of Sweden were among the Bridal Party.
