Italian State Visit to The Netherlands

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, on their three-day State Visit to The Netherlands from November 9th to the 11th to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, and  deepening of the cooperation to a stronger, more sustainable and safer Europe. The Dutch King and Queen went on a State Visit to Italy in 2017, while the last Italian State Visit was in 2003.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima officially welcomed President Sergio Mattarella and Laura Mattarella outside the Royal Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam. After an inspection of the guard of honour, the President laid a wreath at the National Monument on Dam Square, which was followed by a reception with Dutch authorities and the Italian dignitaries.

In the evening, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima (wearing the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara) hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Sergio Mattarella and Laura Mattarella at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Both the King and President gave speeches. Princess Beatrix (in the Aquamarine Tiara) and Princess Margriet (wearing the Dutch Laurel Wreath Tiara) were also present.

On the second day of the State Visit, Prime Minister Mark Rutte hosted a Luncheon for President Mattarella and Laura Mattarella at the Binnenhof, at which King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima also present.

In the evening,  Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Laura Mattarella hosted  a musical performance by Beatrice Rana and Ludovica Rana for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima (wearing her Tutti Frutti Necklace) in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. After the performance, the Royal Couple bid farewell to the President.
