Following the Royal Variety Performance and the State Opening of Parliament, the Queen (wearing the Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara and her City of London Fringe Necklace) and Duke of Edinburgh visited Lloyd’s of London on this day in 1952, to lay the foundation stone of their new building.
