Brunei State Visit to Britain, 1992

The British Royal Family hosted Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and Queen Saleha on their State Visit to the United Kingdom on this day in 1992, following celebrations for the Sultan’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations in 1992.

Following an Official Welcome and a Procession from Horse Guards Parade to the Palace, the Queen (wearing the Burmese Ruby Tiara) and Duke hosted a State Banquet for the Sultan (in the Order of the Bath) and Queen Saleha (wearing her Diamond Tiara) at Buckingham Palace which was also attended by the Queen Mother (wearing the Greville Tiara and Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Necklace), Princess Anne (in the Festoon Tiara), Princess Margaret (wearing the Poltimore Tiara), the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (in the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara), the Duke and Duchess of Kent (wearing the Fouquet Aquamarine Tiara) and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (in the Kent City of London Fringe Tiara).

The Sultan and Queen Saleha (in a Diamond Tiara) as well as Princess Consort Mariam also hosted a Return Banquet for the Queen (wearing the Vladimir Tiara and Cambridge Emerald Parure) and members of the British Royal Family, which included the Duke of York, Prince Edward,  the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (in the Iveagh Tiara and Diamond Necklace), the Duke and Duchess of Kent (wearing the Kent Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara) and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (in the Kent City of London Fringe Tiara).
