Princess Margaret joined the Queen (wearing the Nizam of Hyderabad Tiara (for the last time) and Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace) and Duke of Edinburgh at the Royal Variety Performance held in aid of the Actors Benevolent Fund at the London Palladium on this day in 1952. This was the first Royal Variety Performance since the Queen’s accession earlier that year, on the eve of her first State Opening of Parliament.
