The Prince of Wales and Princess Anne (wearing the Cartier Halo Tiara for her first tiara appearance) joined the Queen (wearing the George IV State Diadem and her Coronation Necklace and Earrings) and Duke of Edinburgh for the first time at the State Opening of Parliament on this day in 1967, with the Royal Family photographed by Lord Lichfield in the Picture Gallery at Buckingham Palace with Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, and also recorded in the carriage while departing the Palace ahead of the Ceremony.

The Royal Family walked behind the Queen (wearing the Imperial State Crown) in the Procession as she opened Parliament and gave the speech from the Throne in the Chamber of the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster in London, with the Prince of Wales and Princess Anne seated on either side of the Queen and Duke. The Duchess of Grafton (in the Grafton Tiara), the Queen’s Mistress of the Robes, led the Ladies-in-Waiting.
