The Queen was joined by the Queen Mother, Princess Anne, Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, Mary, Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood, and Lord Mountbatten, as she attended the Badminton Horse Trials on this day in 1962, on the Duke of Beaufort’s Badminton Estate. The then Duke of Beaufort was married to Lady Mary Cambridge, a niece of Queen Mary, and the entire Royal Family stayed with them at the magnificent Badminton House during the Badminton Horse Trials.
