Wedding of Prince Philippos of Greece

The Religious Wedding of Prince Philippos of Greece, the youngest son of King Constantine II and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, and Nina Nastassja Flohr (wearing a Chanel Gown and the Antique Corsage Tiara) in a Religious Ceremony at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens on October 23rd. The couple got married in a Civil Ceremony in Switzerland last December. and had a Pre-Wedding Party at Lake Vouliagmeni.

The Wedding of Prince Philippos and Princess Nina is the first Royal Wedding in the Metropolitan Cathedral since that of his parents, King Constantine II of Greece and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark, in 1964, and the first Greek Royal Event in the Cathedral since the Christening of his brother, Crown Prince Pavlos, in 1967, just a few months before the end of the Greek Monarchy. Following the Ceremony, there was a Reception at the National Gymnastics Association with another Reception to be hosted by King Constantine at the Piraeus Yacht Club.

In addition to the extended Greek Royal Family, Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included Queen Sofia (aunt of the groom, wearing Queen Frederica’s Ruby Pendant) and Infanta Elena of Spain (cousin of the groom), Princess Benedikte of Denmark (aunt of the groom, wearing her Floral Diamond Brooches), Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg (cousin of the groom) and Count Michael Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, Princess Beatrice of York and Count Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie of York and  Jack Brooksbank, Prince Michael and Marina Karella, Princess Michael of Greece, Prince Ernst August and Princess Ekaterina of HanoverPrince Christian and Princess Alessandra of Hanover, Chantal Hochuli, Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł, Prince Kyril of BulgariaCountess Anna Theresa von und zu Arco-Zinneberg, and Tom and Alice Naylor-Leyland.

  1. Lovely bride and groom! They had a look of happiness on their faces which I suspect has a double meaning for them. The bride was wearing a very pretty and appropriate wedding gown as well as the Antique Corsage Tiara, confirming its status as bridal tiara for the sons’ brides. My guess is that our next chance to see the Khedive of Egypt tiara as a bridal tiara will be for Princess Theodora’s wedding or maybe for Princess Maria-Olympia’s.

    The whole of the Greek royal family was there along with a great many members of the extended family as well as royal friends. It looked like a happy time was had by all! I wish the newlyweds all the happiness in the world as they embark on this new life together. Congratulations!

  2. Compare this wedding crowd to the pathetic attendance at the “Russian Imperial Wedding!” This is because this was a REAL Royal wedding…instead of a pseudo royal wedding of the illegitimate pretender to a throne. Real Royals support a Real Royal union.
