The Dutch Royal Family welcomed Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik of Denmark on their State Visit to The Netherlands on this day in 1975, the highlight of which was the State Banquet hosted by Queen Juliana (wearing the Mellerio Ruby Tiara and Parure with the Order of the Elephant) and Prince Bernhard (in the Order of the Elephant) in honour of Queen Margrethe (wearing the Pearl Poiré Tiara and Parure and the Order of the Netherlands Lion) and Prince Henrik (in the Order of the Netherlands Lion) at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam. Crown Princess Beatrix (wearing the Württemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara and the) and Prince Claus, Princess Margriet (wearing the Ears of Wheat Tiara) and Pieter van Vollenhoven, and Prince George and Princess Anne of Denmark (in her Diamond Tiara) were also present. Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary were due to visit The Netherlands on a Business Visit next week, but that has been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic.
