The eldest child of Princess Alexandra of Kent, the only daughter of the Prince George, Duke of Kent and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, and Sir Angus Ogilvy, son of the 12th Earl of Airlie and Lady Alexandra Coke, James was the first of the children born during the royal baby boom of 1964, and was born the 13th in the line of succession (currently 54th), with the Queen among his godparents. Growing up at Thatched House Lodge in Richmond Park, he began his education at Buckingham Palace with Prince Edward and Lady Sarah before attending Gibb pre-prep and Heatherdown Preparatory School, followed by Eton and the University of St Andrews, earning a degree in History of Art and an MBA from Cranfield before working for Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW) and then a shipping agency in Edinburgh. We wish him a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
