Crown Prince Leka of the Albanians married Ms Elia Zaharia on October 8th at the Royal Palace of Tirana. After the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Royal Residence. A number of representatives of foreign royal families were present, including Queen Sofia of Spain and Empress Farah of Iran. A banquet was held at the Royal palace in the evening.
The Wedding of Crown Prince Leka of the Albanians and Elia Zaharia began at the Royal Palace of Tirana, where the couple walked down the aisle together, had a short ceremony conducted by the mayor, and then listened to speeches by leaders of the major religions of Albania. Later, the Crown Prince and Princess posed with their wedding party outside the Royal Palace and attended a Reception in the Garden.
In the evening, Crown Prince Leka and Crown Princess Elia (wearing the Sapphire Goat Tiara) hosted a Banquet at the Royal Palace in Tirana, which was followed by a Ball. Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included Queen Sofia of Spain, Empress Farah of Iran, Princess Irene of Greece, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (wearing the the Kent Pearl Festoon Tiara), Princess Lea of Belgium, Crown Princess Margareta (in the Romanian Greek Key Tiara) and Prince Radu of Romania, Prince George Frederick of Prussia, the Crown Prince and Princess of Serbia (wearing her Tiara), Princess Maria Pia of Savoy, Princess Lalla Meriem of Morocco, Princess Noal Zaher of Afghanistan, Prince Phillip and Princess Isabelle of Liechtenstein, the Duke and Duchess of Braganza, Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia, the Duke and Duchess of Castro, Prince Guillaume and Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg (wearing her Ruby Necklace), Princess Gloria and Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis, and Prince Gundakar and Princess Marie of Liechtenstein.
For the ceremony, the new Crown Princess Elia wore a satin gown with heavy embroidery over the bodice and hem and a long train, anchored by the Sapphire Goat Tiara. After changing into a lace gown for the reception, she changed back into her wedding gown for the Ball.
