Day 3 of Royal Ascot, commonly known as ‘Ladies Day’ is synonymous with large and crazy hats. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh attended Ladies Day on June 16th with the Earl & Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal, the Duke of York, and Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie. The special guests in the carriage procession for Day 3 were Prince Hussein & Princess Sarvath of Jordan, and the Duke and Duchess of Fife.
The Queen wore an Angela Kelly outfit; orange dress, blue coat, and an orange hat, pairing her customary Three Strand Pearl Necklace with Prince Albert’s Sapphire Brooch. The Duke of Edinburgh wore morning dress with a red tie and a grey top hat. The Queen presented the Gold Cup, renamed in honour of HM’s 90th birthday.
The Countess of Wessex wore a white and coral outfit by Suzannah. Princess Beatrice wore a navy macramé dress, and Princess Eugenie wore a navy dress with a pink collar. The Princess Royal wore an elegant white outfit with pearls and a gold brooch. Princess Sarvath of Jordan, (a neighbour of my grandparents in Pakistan), wore a purple take on her usual traditional outfit with gold earrings and a purple ornament in her large bouffant hairdo.
The Duchess of Fife wore a floral dress and a pink jacket, with pearls and a diamond brooch. Princess Micheal of Kent wore a light blue outfit with a grey cape and a large grey pearl necklace.
