British Oscar Winners Reception at St James Palace

TRH The Prince of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall hosted a Reception for British Oscar Winners on the 4th of May at St James Palace, London. Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, and Colin Firth were among the 300 British artists and filmmakers have been awarded Oscars over a 45-year period of film production.

Actress Emma Thompson greeted the Prince of Wales “It’s you! You look gorgeous.” Dame Judi described the Prince as “charming, he really was, so relaxed, so lovely.” Another guest was Julien, Lord Fellowes, the creator of Downton Abbey. Actor Sir Michael Caine, who has been nominated for an Oscar in every decade from the 1960s to the 2000s, complemented the Prince on his recent performance at the Shakespeare400 celebrations: “He did it very well…I was stunned!”
