The Wedding of Princess Désirée of Sweden (wearing the Cameo Tiara) and Baron Niclas Silfverschiöld at the Storkyrkan in Stockholm on this day in 1964, following a Wedding Ball at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Among the Royal attendees were her grandfather, King Gustaf Adolf and Queen Louise of Sweden, mother, Princess Sibylla, sisters, Princess Brigitta and Princess Christina, brother Prince Carl Gustaf, aunt Queen Ingrid, and cousins Crown Princess Margrethe, Princess Benedikte and Princess Anne Marie of Denmark. The couple had three children, residing at his family seats of Koberg Castle and Gåsevadholm Castle, and remained happily married until his death in 2017.
