The Princess Royal, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and Prince of Monaco were spotted at swimming races, while Crown Prince Fredrick of Denmark was seen at a tennis match. There is usually a significant royal attendance at the Olympics, at London 2012, most of the monarchs brought their children and grandchildren, but for Rio 2016, only a few countries are represented by their royal families. They are sent to support and cheer on their countries teams. The Royals attended the Opening Ceremony on August 5, and then attended a reception for heads of state and government representatives.
