HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark opened the LEGO-classes at the Institute for Child Development in Rio de Janeiro on August 3rd. This is at the start of a long stay in Rio for the Danish Royals for the Olympics. Crown Prince Fredrick is the head of the Danish Olympic Delegation.
The Crown Princess gave boxes of legos to children from a school in Rio’s Jacarepague shantytown. She said of her stay in Rio; “It’s been a very positive experience like the trips we’ve had to Brazil with Danish business delegations and so forth… We’re looking forward to following the Danish athletes of course, but as well all the athletes of the world and the amazing performances they’ll put in.” Afterwards, Crown Princess Mary toured the school and played legos with some of the children.
Crown Princess Mary wore an Ivory dress with a gold necklace, gold and pearl hoop earrings, and a stacked pearl bracelet. For some part of the event, she also wore a gold pin.
