On Day 1, 6th August, of the Olympics in Rio, most of the Royals visited their countries teams in the Olympic Village. The Belgian Monarchs visited the Belgian team, and the King of the Netherlands visited his country’s team at the Olympic village. Continue reading
There is usually a significant royal attendance at the Olympics, at London 2012, most of the monarchs brought their children and grandchildren, but for Rio 2016, only a few countries are represented by their royal families. They are sent to support and cheer on their countries teams. The Royals attended the Opening Ceremony on August 5, and then attended a reception for heads of state and government representatives.
