Faber-Castell Diamond Tiara on Auction

There are many striking antique Jewels coming up for Auction this month, with a Diamond Meander Kokoshnik Tiara from the Counts of Faber-Castell going on Auction at Dorotheum in Vienna next week!

A striking Diamond Tiara composed of old-cut brilliant-cut diamonds and rose-cut diamonds, circa 1900, the Tiara must have been among the gifts when Baroness Ottilie “Tilly” von Faber, Heiress of the Faber Family, married Count Alexander zu Castell-Rüdenhausen in 1898, forming the House of Faber-Castell.

The Diamond Meander Tiara was worn by Countess Ottilie zu Faber-Castell for a portrait around 1906.

Countess Ottilie also wore the Diamond Meander Tiara for a portrait around 1910, which hangs at Schloss Stein.

Most recently, the Diamond Meander Kokoshnik Tiara was worn by actress Mariella Ahrens to marry Count Patrick Faber-Castell at Schloss Stein in 2006.

Now, the Diamond Tiara ‘from a Noble European family’ is going on Auction at Dorotheum in Vienna on May 21st, with an estimate of EUR 15.000 to EUR 25.000.

Last year, a Boucheron Diamond Tiara/Bracelet and a Sapphire and Diamond Demi-Parure from the estate of the Countess of Faber-Castell was sold at Auction in the Sotheby’s ‘Royal & Noble Jewels’ Sale in Geneva.
