The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh led the Guests at the Wedding of Ella Mountbatten, daughter of Lord and Lady Ivar Mountbatten, and Fergus Wright at St Luke’s Church in Milland, West Sussex on September 12th.
Ella Mountbatten, the eldest daughter of Lord Ivar Mountbatten and Penelope Thompson, married insurance professional Fergus Wright at St Luke’s Church in Milland, West Sussex, followed by a Reception at Great Trippetts Farm, the home of Ella’s uncle, the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven.
The religious ceremony took place at St Luke’s Church in Milland, West Sussex, where the bride was walked down the aisle by her father, Lord Ivar Mountbatten. In a nostalgic twist, the newlyweds made their escape from the church to the reception in the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang vintage car.
The party moved to the Sussex estate of Ella’s uncle, George Mountbatten, the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven, at Great Trippetts Farm. The venue featured trees loaned from a local nursery and sweetpeas grown specifically in the bride’s honor. Breaking away from traditional tiered wedding cakes, they celebrated with a croquembouche-inspired tower made entirely of cheesecake-flavored Little Moons mochi cakes.
Ella Mountbatten wore Diamond Moussaieff Tiara.
“We have a beautiful Family Tiara, but, although my mum wore it, it’s so heavy,” Ella shares of looking to Moussaieff, a brand she had worked with previously in her role as partnership manager at Peninsula London, for a leaf-motif Tiara befitting her look. Boodles earrings, borrowed from Wainwright, were the final flourish for the ceremony.
The Duke, Ella’s godfather, and Duchess of Edinburgh led the High Society Guests and the Duke also signed the marriage register.
