We got to see several spectacular Royal and Noble Tiaras worn at last night’s State Banquet held by the British Royal Family for the Nigerian President and First Lady at Windsor Castle, on their State Visit to the United Kingdom this week!
The British Royal Family held a State Banquet for the Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at Windsor Castle on their State Visit to the United Kingdom, following the ceremonial Welcome Ceremony at Windsor.
Queen Camilla wore the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, which was created from the necklace of a disgraced Belgian Princess which was bought by the late Queen and turned into a Tiara. It has been a favourite of Queen Camilla in recent years!
For the first time, Queen Camilla is wearing the Earrings of the King George VI Sapphire Suite, which must have been altered since Queen Camilla does not have pierced ears.
Queen Camilla also wore her Diamond Serpent Necklace, which is a family heirloom from her personal collection.
Additionally, Queen Camilla was wearing the Queen Mother’s Cartier Bracelets and Queen Victoria’s Diamond Bar Brooch with the Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, as well as the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
The Princess of Wales wore Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara, which has been regular in her Tiara rotation for over a decade!
The Princess also wore Queen Mother’s Sapphire Fringe Earrings for the first time in several years, with the Sash and Star of the Royal Victorian Order, and the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
Also for the first time in several years, the Princess Royal wore Princess Andrew’s Meander Tiara, which is a legacy of her late grandmother, Princess Andrew of Greece, which was paired with her Diamond Bow Brooch, a wedding gift from King Charles, the Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
However, Princess Anne surprised us by wearing Queen Mary’s City of London Choker, which she previously only wore twice well over two decades ago!
The Duchess of Gloucester wore the Iveagh Tiara, which had been a Wedding Gift to Queen Mary from the Earl and Countess of Iveagh, with Art Deco Brooches taken from a Diamond Bandeau Tiara, the Order of the Garter, the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duchess also changed things up by wearing Queen Mary’s Pearl Fringe Necklace, which reappeared after several decades only last year, just a few days after we had featured the heirloom. That was paired with a smaller Diamond Necklace and several Bracelets, made from a Sautoir which had been given as a Wedding Gift to the Duchess’ mother-in-law by the City of London in 1935.
Lady Brooke, one of the Queen’s Companions, wore her Diamond Star Tiara she also wore last year.
Lady Sarah Keswick, another of the Queen’s Companions, wore her Diamond Fringe Tiara.
So far, we have only been able to spot one other guest wearing a Tiara at the State Banquet, though we are sure more pictures will come out!

I suppose there won’t be as many tiaras at this State Banquet as would normally be the case. With many of the guests not being in possesion of a tiara – I would assume – they still looked very elegant in their colourful garments. I even saw one female guest arriving wearing a hat, which is not really the dress-code for a State Banquet. I believe she later removed the hat though 🙂
