The Queen hosted a Dinner for the Heads of Government of the United States, France, Canada, West Germany, Japan, Italy and the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace on this day in 1984, 40 years ago, following the London Economic Summit.
President of the Council of Ministers Bettino Craxi of Italy, Chancellor Dr Helmut Scholl of West Germany, Queen Elizabeth II, American President Ronald Reagan and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone of Japan, President Francois Mitterand of France, Gaston Thorn, President of the Commission of the European Communities, and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau of Canada at Buckingham Palace when they attended a special banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth II following the London Economic Summit.
The seven industralized nations adopted three separate statements, on east-west relations, the gulf conflict and international terrorism
