Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Princess Royal joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they hosted a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on July 4th, on their first visit to Scotland following their Coronation in May. There are usually four annual Garden Parties hosted by the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyrood House for around 30,000 guests yearly, as well as a few special others, including one at Hillsborough Castle this year.

The Princess Royal joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla (wearing the Queen Mother’s Diamond Thistle Brooch) at the Garden Party for 8,000 guests in the grounds of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, during the annual Holyrood Week. The members of the royal family stood for the national anthem before meeting the guests.

Earlier, Queen Camilla received a coronation bouquet from the Worshipful Company of Gardeners at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The King was welcomed into the city of Edinburgh, ‘your ancient and hereditary kingdom of Scotland’ by the Lord Provost, who offered him the keys of the city in the traditional Ceremony of the Keys, ahead of a Reception on the Royal Yacht Britannia.
