King Carl XVI Gustaf (wearing the Sash and Star of the Order of the Seraphim and the Neck Badge of the Order of the Polar Star) and Queen Silvia of Sweden (in the Sash and Star of the Order of the Seraphim and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch) were joined by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel as they attended the annual Formal Gathering of the Swedish Academy at the Stortorget in Stockholm on the evening of December 20th, which is always held four days before Christmas. The Formal Gathering is the last scheduled engagement of the Swedish Royal Family this year. At the Gathering, the Swedish Academy decides on the Nobel Laureates for the following year’s Nobel Prizes.
