Royal Variety Performance 2022

The Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar attended the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London on December 1st. The event is in aid of the Royal Variety Charity, of which the late Queen was patron, which helps entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.

Upon arrival at the Royal Albert Hall, the Earl and Countess of Wessex met officials and performers, including Joan Williams, who photographed the Royal Family for the documentary, ‚ÄėRoyal Family‚Äô in 1969, before taking their seat in the Royal Box. The Performance was hosted by Lee Mack and included performances from Nile Rogers & Chic, George Ezra, Ellie Goulding, Sam Ryder, Becky Hill, the cast of the musical Cabaret and the cast of Cirque du Soleil. The evening also featured a duet by Rita Wilson and Gregory Porter, a rendition of Frank Skinner, David Baddiel and The Lightning Seeds‚Äô hit ‚ÄėThree Lions‚Äô, as well as a special collaboration between Andrew Loyd Weber, Gary Barlow, Gareth Malone and the London Youth choir. Afterwards, the Earl and Countess went up on stage to meet the performers. The event was filmed by ITV, and will be screened later this month.
