Queen appoints Boris Johnson as Prime Minister

The Queen has appointed The Right Honourable Boris Johnson MP as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on July 24th, following the resignation of Prime Minister Theresa May. The outgoing Prime Minister gave her formal resignation to the Queen at Buckingham Palace, which was followed by a half-hour period when the Queen was Absolute Monarch of the United Kingdom, until she received Boris Johnson, officially asking him to form a government and become Prime Minister.
