The Christening of Prince (now King) Harald of Norway, the third child and only son of Crown Prince (later King) Olav of Norway and Princess Martha of Sweden (wearing the Napoleonic Emerald Parure), by Bishop Johan Lunde in the Royal Chapel of the Royal Palace in Oslo on this day in 1937. Prince Harald’s godparents were: King Haakon VII and Queen Maud of Norway (paternal grandparents); Prince Carl and Princess Ingeborg of Sweden (maternal grandparents); King Leopold III of Belgium (uncle); Queen Mary (great-aunt) and King George VI of the United Kingdom (cousin); and Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark (cousin).
