The Queen (wearing Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara, her Greville Chandelier Earrings, the George VI Festoon Necklace and the Order of the Garter) and the members of the Royal Family attended a Banquet hosted by the British Army in the Great Hall of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea on this day in 1956.

Joining the Queen was the Queen Mother (wearing the Oriental Circlet Tiara and Queen Victoria’s Crown Ruby Parure) and Princess Margaret (in the Cartier Halo Tiara).

Princess Mary Countess of Harewood (wearing the Harewood Scroll Tiara and Queen Victoria’s Sapphire Necklace), the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (in the Teck Turquoise Tiara and Parure), and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent (wearing the Cambridge Sapphire Parure) were also present.

Mary, Duchess of Devonshire (wearing the Devonshire Opal Necklace Tiara) and Cynthia, Countess Spencer (wearing the Spencer Honeysuckle Tiara) were the Ladies-in-Waiting in attendance on the Queen and Queen Mother.
