Royal Guests and Relatives gathered from around Europe to celebrate the Wedding of Duke Carl of Württemberg and Princess Diane of Orléans at Schloss Altshausen on this day in 1960, 65 years ago, following a Ball at Schloss Altshausen.
Duke Carl of Württemberg, the son of the Duke of Württemberg and Archduchess Rosa of Austria, married Princess Diane of Orleans, daughter of the Count of Paris and Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza, in the Chapel of Schloss Altshausen.
Princess Diane wore the Württemberg Diamond Scroll Tiara.
In addition to the entire extended Orléans and Württemberg Royal Families, Royal Guests and Relatives included Prince Juan Carlos of Spain, Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy, Prince Casimir of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and Princess Maria Cristina of Savoy-Aosta.
The Duke and Duchess had six children; Duke Friedrich, Duchess Mathilde, Duke Eberhard, Duke Philipp, Duke Michael, and Duchess Fleur, and remained married until he passed away in 2022.
