The Wedding of Prince Aimone, Duke of Spoleto and Princess Irene of Greece (wearing her Diamond Tiara and the Order of Saints Olga and Sophia) at the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore Duomo di Firenze in Florence on this day in 1939. The couple had one son, the Duke of Aosta, and briefly became the King and Queen of Croatia before becoming the Duke and Duchess of Aosta and remained married until his death in Argentina in 1948.
