Today marks the 177th Wedding Anniversary of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The couple got married at the Chapel Royal at St. James’ Palace on February 10, 1840. The Wedding was recently depicted in ITV and PBS TV series Victoria. Prince Albert wore the uniform of a British field marshal with the collar of the Order of the Garter. Queen Victoria wore a wedding gown of rich white satin, trimmed with orange flower blossoms, which started the fashion for white wedding gowns. She also wore her Turkish diamond necklace and earrings with Prince Albert’s Sapphire Brooch.
