Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering 2017

The Princess Royal joined QEPrize as they announced the winners of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering on February 1st. The Princess gave a speech. The Prize is a £1m global prize awarded to the engineers who have changed the world.

The Princess Royal joined QEPrize as they announced the winners of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. The Queen has a longstanding interest in Engineering from serving in the ATS to recording her Christmas Message in 3D.  The Prize was awarded to the four creators of digital imaging sensors: Eric Fossum, George Smith, Nobukazu Teranishi and Michael Tompsett. The Princess Royal said, “The QEPrize is an opportunity to celebrate truly inspiring engineering that can help solve some of the most challenging of our problem” She added: “It’s a pleasure to see that the Prize is becoming truly global” as she met winners from UK, Japan and USA.Screen Shot 2017-02-01 at 8.10.56 AM.png
