Wedding of Princess Alexandrine Louise of Denmark and Count Luitpold of Castell-Castell,

The Wedding of Princess Alexandrine Louise of Denmark, daughter of Prince Harald of Denmark and Princess Helena of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, and Count Luitpold of Castell-Castell, son of Count Otto Friedrich of Castell-Castell and Princess Amélie of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg, at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen on this day in 1937. The couple had three children before the Count’s death during the Second World War.

Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included King Christian X (uncle, in the Order of the Elephant) and Queen Alexandrine (wearing the Pearl Poiré Tiara and the Order of the Elephant), Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Ingrid (in the Danish Ruby Parure), Prince Knud, and Princess Caroline Mathilde (sister, wearing Queen Alexandrine’s Russian Sapphire Tiara), Prince Axel of Denmark and Princess Margretha of Sweden and Denmark (in her Floral Tiara), Prince and Princess Viggo (wearing her Opal Tiara), and Princess Thyra of Denmark (in her Sapphire Tiara) among a host of Royal and Noble Guests and Relatives.
