Due to the ongoing Coronavirus Crisis, the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations marking the birthday of King Willem-Alexander were cancelled but that didn’t stop the Dutch Royal Family from marking the special day at home at the Huis ten Bosch Palace.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco were joined by members of the Monegasque Princely Family for the annual National Day Celebrations in Monte Carlo on November 19th. National Day, also known as The Sovereign Prince’s Day, is held on the day of St. Rainier, the namesake saint of Prince Rainier III, the father of Prince Albert. Continue reading
The Belgian Royal Family celebrated National Day 2019 with a series of events on July 20th and 21st. The day commemorates July 21st, 1831 in which Prince Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the first Head of State of an independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. Members of the British Royal family celebrated the Queen’s Official Birthday by attending the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony in London on June 8th. They rode in carriages to inspect the guards at Horse Guards Parade and then watched a flypast on the Balcony of Buckingham Palace. Continue reading
