The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, danced with Lieutenant-Colonel Denys Smyly during the Bicentenary Ball of the 16th/5th The Queen’s Royal Lancers at the Hyde Park Hotel in London on this day in 1959, 65 years ago.

The Queen wore the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara with Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Necklace and the Duchess of Gloucester’s Pendant Earrings for the Bicentenary Ball.
