Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester and the Duchess of Gloucester joined South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for the Banquet hosted by the Lord Mayor and City of London Corporation at the Guildhall in London on the evening of the second day of the South African State Visit to Britain. The Lord Mayor and the President both gave speeches.

The Duke of Gloucester wore White Tie with the Garter, Sash and Star of the Order of the Garter, the Star of the Royal Victorian Order, and his Medals. The Duchess wore the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara, Pearl and Emerald Suite, the Sash and Star of the Royal Victorian Order, and the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II.

Earlier in the day, the President, was accompanied by the Earl of Wessex for a visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, followed by a visit to the Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research centre that works across academia, medicine and industry to understand the biology behind health and disease. In the afternoon, the President returned to Buckingham Palace to formally bid farewell to the King ahead of the Banquet.
