King Reza Shah of Iran hosted a Banquet to celebrate the Wedding of his son, Crown Prince Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and Princess Fawzia of Egypt (wearing her Van Cleef & Arpels Tiara and Necklace) at the White Palace in Tehran on this day in 1939. Royal attendees included Queen Mother Nazli of Egypt (in her Van Cleef & Arpels Parure), Queen Tadj ol-Molouk of Iran (wearing her Diamond TiaraPrincess Alice, Countess of Athlone (wearing her Diamond Palmette Tiara), the Duke of Aosta, Princess Shams Pahlavi, Princess Ashraf Pahlavi among the extended Iranian Royal Family and Royal Court. The Banquet was among a series of festivities in Tehran following the Wedding and a Banquet in Cairo.
