Inspired by the icy beauty of Canadian winters, these 2.15ct Snowflake Snowstorm Diamond Earrings are set with pave diamonds crafted in 18kt white gold, and can be bought for $15,100.00 CAD. During her time living in Toronto, Meghan Markle must had gotten a taste for the jewellery of Maison Birks as she has quite a few of their pieces in her collection. It is unknown if this piece was a gift or acquired by herself but it is quite likely that the Snowflake Snowstorm Diamond Earrings were a wedding gift.

The first appearance of the Birks Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings came when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were pictured arriving at a wedding rehearsal on the eve of their Wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Two months later, the new Duchess of Sussex wore the Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings on an Official Visit to Ireland, the couple’s first Official Visit to a foreign country. A few weeks later, the Duchess repeated the earrings at the 100 Days to Peace Concert, a gala music evening marking the centenary of the end of the First World War.

The Birks Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings also made an appearance when the Duchess of Sussex attended the Opening of ‘Oceania’ Exhibition, her first solo engagement since becoming a member for the Royal Family. The exhibition showcased the different Oceanic countries, so naturally, the earrings made another appearance when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a Dinner hosted by the King and Queen of Tonga the following month.

Upon their return to Britain, the Duchess wore the Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings at the annual Dinner for the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and a few days later at the Royal Variety Performance.

The following year, the Duchess only had one public appearance of the Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings, for a Reception hosted by the British Ambassador Thomas Reill at the Ambassador’s Residence in Rabat during an Official Visit to Morocco.

There were many changes in the next year as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex became disenchanted with their royal roles, and the Birks Diamond Snowflake Snowstorm Earrings made a final public appearance (to date) at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey in March 2020, which was their final Engagement ahead of their departure from the Royal Family, which was also one of the Royal Family’s last public appearences before the ongoing pandemic. With such a delicate and classic design, lets hope these earrings make another appearance in the Duchess’ new life in California before too long!

  4. Wow. NinaRose girl calm down. That’s a lot of spent energy on someone who doens’t know you exist. It’s okay.

That aside, I cam to comment on the earrings. At first appearance I remember thinking these were rather dainty, but it seems to me that the Duchess has a minimal approach to jewelry style. But upon seeing this post I realized these earrings as actually quite a perfect option for dual duty. They are small enough for day wear and glitzy enough to pass for a nighttime diamond. I wrote them off as simple but in your images I can see there is a little more interesting detail to them.

I hope she outright owns them, it would be nice to see what else could be done with them with future styles.
