Happy Birthday to Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Countess Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille who turns 50 today! The second child and elder daughter of Princess Benedikte of Denmark and Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, Princess Alexandra is the niece of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. After growing up at Schloss Wittgenstein in Germany, she studied Art History and worked for UNESCO World Heritage Centre, in charge of preserving the cultural heritage of countries in the Middle East and South Asia. In 1998, Princess Alexandra married Count Jefferson von Pfeil und Klein-Ellguth, a member of the ancient House of Pfeil und Klein-Ellguth, and the couple had two children, Count Richard and Countess Alexandra, residing in Paris and later at Schloss Heidesheim until announcing their divorce in 2017. Two years later, Princess Alexandra married Count Michael Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille, a childhood friend who is a member of the illustrious Ahlefeldt Family. The couple live at Egeskov Castle, the ancestral home of Counts von Ahlefedt. We wish HH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
