Crown Princess Margrethe of Denmark, her first cousin, Princess Margaretha of Sweden, and their cousin, Princess Astrid of Norway, were on a Tour of the United States on this day in 1960, on the occasion of the first transatlantic flight by Scandinavian Airlines to Los Angeles. The itinerary included stops in Disneyland, Sea World, a roadside Diner, and Hollywood, including a visit to Paramount Pictures where they met Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Elvis Presley, as well as a Ball in honour of Crown Princess Margrethe (wearing the Alexandrine Drop Tiara), Princess Margaretha (in the Four-Button Tiara), and Princess Astrid (wearing the Vasa Tiara).
