Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Australia- Day 3

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on their first official Tour as a married couple, to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand, from October 16th to the 31st, mainly in connection with the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney. Right before the start of the visit the couple announced that the Duchess is expecting their first child. Click HERE to take a look at all the other days of the Tour.

On the morning of October 18th, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Melbourne, where they walked to Government House, meeting members of the public along the way, before attending an official Reception at Government House, where they met a diverse group of young leaders and community members, and viewed a demonstration of various sporting activities, with ambassadors from the This Girl Can campaign. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess visited the social enterprise café Charcoal Lane, which offers leadership, mentoring and training programmes for young Aboriginal people, and where they had lunch.

In the afternoon, the Duke and Duchess visited a primary school to meet students who are involved in sustainability programmes, afterwards traveling on an iconic Melbourne tram to South Melbourne beach, where they met volunteers from a local beach patrol programme and learned about efforts to keep Port Phillip Bay beaches and foreshores clear of litter to reduce the negative impact on the marine environment. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess boarded a flight back to Sydney.

The Duke wore a Navy Blazer with a White Shirt, later changing into a Grey Coat. The Duchess wore a Dion Lee Folded Sail Dress later changing into a Club Monaco ‘Miguelina’ Dress, both topped with her khaki trench coat.
