In the morning, the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh welcomed the President and First Lady with ceremonies including a carriage ride on the Long Walk.
In the evening, the Queen (wearing her Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara) hosted a glittering State Banquet at Windsor Castle, which was attended by the Queen Mother (in the Greville Tiara), Princess Margaret (wearing the Poltimore Tiara), the Princess Royal (in her Festoon Tiara), the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester (wearing the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara), the Duchess of Kent (in the Kent Pearl and Diamond Fringe Tiara), Princess Alexandra (wearing her Ogilvy Tiara) and Sir Angus Ogilvy, and Prince and Princess Michael (in the Kent Festoon Tiara).
