Happy Birthday to Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Värmland, who turns 33 today! The daughter of Erik Oscar Hellqvist and  Marie Britt Rotman, she is in the middle of two sisters, and grew up in Älvdalen. After school, she worked as a model and in the media, also co-founding Project Playground, a charity that assists underprivileged children in South Africa. In 2015, after a 5 year relationship, she married Prince Carl Philip of Sweden in a lavish ceremony at the Slottskyrkan in Stockholm. The couple have two sons, Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel, and reside at Villa Solbacken in Stockholm. Princess Sofia undertakes official and charitable duties on behalf of the Royal Family, and also represents Swedish interests abroad. During the Coronavirus pandemic, she has volunteered at a hospital. We wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and many Happy Returns!
