The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were welcomed by officials as they arrived at the Rosyth Naval Dockyard in Fife. In her speech before officially naming the HMS Prince of Wales, the Duchess said: “These huge aircraft carriers represent a new era in our naval history.” After the speech and ceremony, the Prince and Duchess posed for an official picture with the ship’s company.

The Prince of Wales wore Naval Uniform with his medals and the star of the Order of the Thistle, Scotland’s highest honour. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a navy and white coat with a matching hat, her Everyday Pearl Pendant Earrings, and (quite fittingly) her Pearl and Diamond Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch.
