Queen Beatrix’s 60th Birthday

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands will celebrate his 50th Birthday on April 27th. Though the royal family will be in Tilburg on the 27th, they are hosting a Gala Dinner Royal Palace in Amsterdam for 150 guests. In honour of the occasion, we are flashing back to previous Dutch royal milestone birthdays. Today’s feature- Queen Beatrix’s 60th Birthday in January 1998. Celebrated over two days, the events were attended by many foreign royals. Take a look below at some of the guests-

On the evening of January 30th, the Dutch Royal family and their guests attended a Ballet performance at the Muziek Theater in Amsterdam, while on the evening of the 31st, there was a gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.

At the Ballet Performance, Queen Beatrix wore a purple and magenta gown with pearls and a black cape. She was seen with the Prince of Wales, who wore Black Tie. Then Crown Prince Willem Alexander also wore Black Tie.

For the Ballet Performance, Queen Sonja of Norway wore a navy skirt with a long jacket, floret earrings, and an art deco brooch. King Harald of Norway wore Black Tie. For the Gala Dinner, Queen Sonja wore a white gown with Queen Alexandra’s diamond pendant earrings. King Harald wore Black Tie.

For the Ballet Performance, Queen Silvia of Sweden wore a sequined gown. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden wore Black Tie. For the Gala Dinner, Queen Silvia wore a purple gown with diamond floral earrings. King Carl Gustaf wore Black Tie.

For the Ballet Performance, Queen Margrethe of Denmark wore a black lace top over a navy skirt with her modern ruby and gold suite. Prince Henrik of Denmark wore Black Tie. For the Gala Dinner, Queen Margrethe wore a green silk gown with a diamond riviere, earrings, and brooches. Prince Henrik wore Black Tie.

For the Ballet Performance, Queen Anne Marie of Greece wore an aquamarine gown with pearls. King Constantine of Greece wore Black Tie. For the Gala Dinner, Queen Anne Marie wore a striped gown with the necklace and earrings from her Ruby Parure.

For the Ballet Performance, Grand Duchess Maria Theresa of Luxembourg wore a black gown with gold jewelry. Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg wore Black Tie. For the Gala Dinner, Grand Duchess Maria Theresa wore a navy gown with a choker. Grand Duke Henri wore Black Tie.
