Argentine State Visit to The Netherlands- Day 2

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada of Argentina on a two-day State Visit from March 27 to 28. Click HERE to read about Day 1. On Day 2,  Queen Máxima and the First Lady visited the Mauritshuis museum, attended a Luncheon, visited Rotterdam, and attended a ballet performance.

Queen Máxima and First Lady Juliana Awada started Day 2 of the Argentine State Visit to the Netherlands with a visit to Orange House, where they learned about domestic violence, and a children’s centre. Afterwards, the Queen and First Lady visited the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague, where they were given a guided tour of Dutch masters of the 17th-century Golden Age, including works by Vermeer, Rembrandt and Paulus Potter. Later, they joined King Willem-Alexander and President Mauricio Macri for lunch in the Trêves Hall at the Binnenhof.

In the afternoon, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima joined the President and First lady on a visit to the Port of Rotterdam. They were welcomed by Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb to the Berghaven port in Rotterdam’s Hook of Holland district. The Queen and Presidential couple took a boat trip through the port, while experts and representatives of the business community described the various terminals and explained the new integrated logistics solutions provided by the port’s Maasvlakte terminals.

In the evening, the State Visit ended at a ballet performance given by  President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada at the Theatre Diligentia in The Hague in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. Princess Beatrix, Prince Constantijn, and Princess Laurentien were also present.

For the Day events, King Willem-Alexander wore a dark suit with a peach tie. Queen Maxima wore a Claes Iversen coat with a purple hat and her garnet tassel earrings. For the ballet performance, King Willem-Alexander wore a grey suit with a pink tie. Queen Maxima wore a velvet dress with the earrings and brooch of the Dutch Sapphire Parure.
