Argentine State Visit to Spain

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are hosting President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada of Argentina on a two-day State Visit from February 22nd to the 23rd. On Day 1, the Presidential couple were welcomed by the King and Queen and attended a lunch. In the evening, King Felipe hosted a State Banquet in honour of his guests, where Queen letizia debuted a tiara.

President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada were welcomed in an official ceremony by King Felipe and Queen Letizia at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The President reviewed the Guard, and the two Heads of State had a meeting and exchanged military honours. Later, the King and Queen hosted a lunch for the President and First Lady at the Palace of Zarzuela.

In the evening, King Felipe hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada at the Royal Palace of Madrid. The two couples greeted the guests before the banquet. Both the King and President gave speeches.

For the Welcome and Lunch, Queen Letizia wore a pale pink skirt suit over a lace blouse with conch pearl earrings previously worn by Queen Sofia. King Felipe wore a navy suit with a pale blue tie. For the State Banquet, Queen Letizia wore a black velvet evening gown with the Fleur-de-Lys “La Buena’ Tiara for the first time, diamond earrings from the Joyas de Pasar, Fleur de Lys brooch, and diamond bracelets and the sash and star of the Order of the Liberator General San Martin. King Felipe wore White Tie with the collar of the Order of the Liberator General San Martin. the President and First Lady wore the Order of Isabella the Catholic awarded to them earlier in the day.
