Today marks the anniversary of the day the Shah and Empress of Iran left Tehran during the iranian Revolution, never to return. This picture was taken on tarmac at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, minutes before Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and Empress Farah boarded the plane and left Iran into exile. The Shah died in Egypt in 1980. Empress Farah lives in Paris, and was recently seen at the Wedding of Crown Prince Leka of Albania.
